First Look: The Spring 2020 Collection
We gave editors and influencers a sneak peek during Milan Fashion Week
11.4.19
This spring, SW is sending out a clear message: A brighter future is ahead with every step.
Inspired by the idea of a transformative tropical vacation, Stuart Weitzman’s Head of Product Design Edmundo Castillo set SW silhouettes completely awash in a range of bold and vibrant colors for the Spring 2020 Collection.
“This collection represents the happiness and easy, breezy vibe you feel when you are on a Caribbean vacation, only expressed through color,” says Castillo. “We want you to get that out-of-office feel every day.”
This vision comes through via a modern rainbow comprising vibrant yet wearable colors, including peonia pink, chile red, sole orange, sunflower yellow, lime green and Caribe blue, plus metallics recast in a range of sunny shades. Each silhouette exudes positive vibes while exemplifying the brand’s design DNA of effortlessly melding fashion, function and fit.
The lineup debuted during Milan Fashion Week against a Caribbean-inspired backdrop of white orchids and palm trees. Editors and influencers such as Olivia Palermo, Stefano Tonchi and more stopped by to view the newest designs, and now it's your turn: Discover some of the standout styles below, and stay tuned to pre-order and shop the Spring 2020 Collection launching soon on stuartweitzman.com soon
TREND-DRIVEN, THE SW WAY
The collection features several of the top trends for Spring 2020: The thong sandal silhouette appears in our newest iteration of the strappy MERINDA — a favorite of red carpet stars — distinguished by a pared-back and sophisticated sensibility. Meanwhile, we further explore the wraparound trend with the introduction of the KACIE, which sets the look on a bold platform sole.
In addition, the two-strap ALEENA square-toe slide soars to new heights in a range of glamorous metallic hues. And, in continuation of spring's color-saturated runways trend, hot pink, the biggest trend of Spring 2020 finds its spot in our rainbow as pretty peonia.
THE ESPADRILLE’S SW MAKEOVER
SW Star embellishments and embroidered accents make the traditional spring-favorite espadrille silhouette a modern must-have, just as a custom-printed fabric featuring the SW logo lends a fashion-forward spin to classic espadrilles and bags.
AN ARRAY OF NOVEL LOOKS
The collection’s strongest novelty concepts include transparent mesh materials elevated by floral and graphic embroidery, on-trend, crystal-adorned Mary Janes in a range of metallics and strappy silhouettes featuring touches of macrame´ and wooden beading that add dimension to timeless designs.
SW STYLES RETURN ANEW
Several designs first introduced last fall are reimagined with a tropical twist: The stacked heel inspired by a pedestal, previously only available in a metallic finish, is reintroduced with its own unique spring rainbow, while the best-selling DARYL sneaker is reinterpreted with a metallic snakeskin-print fabric in an array of hues. The buckle hardware that first appeared in the Holiday 2019 Collection is now prominently featured on bright bags as well.
The Spring 2020 Collection will debut soon on stuartweitzman.com. In the meantime, take a look at the SW 2020 Collection.
